Inspectionofunitsandtransportationboxes
afterarrival
Avisualinspectionmustbedoneimmediatelyafterthebox(es)havearrivedattheir
destination.
Prerequisites
Ifyoususpectthattheequipmenthasbeendamagedduringthetransport,requestthata
representativeofthecarrierispresentduringtheinspection.
Procedure
1Checkallboxes(woodenorcardboardboxes,plasticbagsand/orpallets)for
physicaldamage.
Lookforsignsofdropping,immersioninwaterorothermishandling.
2Ifexternaldamageisdetected,opentheboxtocheckitscontents.
Requestthatarepresentativeofthecarriertobepresentwhiletheboxisopened,so
anytransportationdamagecanbeidentiedanddocumented.
3Ifaunithasbeendamaged,prepareaninspectionreportstatingtheconditionofthe
unitandactionstaken.
Describethedamage,andcollectphotographicevidenceifpossible.Returnthe
inspectionreporttoKongsbergMaritimeassoonaspossible.
4Ifunitsarenot
damaged,checkthehumidityabsorbingmaterial.
Ifrequired,dryorreplacethebags,thenre-packtheunit(s)accordingtothepacking
instructions.
