Context

identiedbytheordernumberandtheserialnumberoftheunitinside.
Note
Onceatransducer,sonarheadorhydrophoneisunpacked,makesurethatthebodyand
thecablingarenotexposedtoanymechanicalstress.Protectthetransducerfacewitha
paddedcoverplatetopreventdamage.
Transducersmaybeheavy.
Atransducermustalwaysbehandledasadelicateinstrument.Incorrectactionsmay
damagethetransducerbeyondrepair.
Observethesetransducerhandlingrules:
•Donotactivatethetransducerwhenitisoutofthewater.
•Donotliftthetransducerbythecable.
•Donotsteponthetransducercable.
•Donothandlethetransducerroughlyandavoidimpacts.
•Donotexposethetransducertodirectsunlightorexcessiveheat.
•Donotusehigh-pressurewater,sandblasting,metaltoolsorstrongsolventstoclean
thetransducerface.
Procedure
1Obtainthenecessaryliftingequipment,andmakesurethattheequipmentis
certiedfortheweight.
2Liftthetransducer,sonarheadorhydrophoneoutofthetransportationbox.
3Placeitinastablepositionontheoor/workbench.
4Inspecttheunitforvisualdamage.
5Makesurethattherelevantprotectioniskeptinplaceuntilthenalstagesofthe
installation.
6Collectandkeeptherelevantusermanualsand/ordocumentsprovidedwiththeunit.
7Observethehandlingrulesfortransducers.
