9.42Checking the rear brake linings
Warning
Danger of accidents Reduced braking caused by worn brake linings.
– Have worn brake linings replaced immediately in an authorized KTM-RC8 workshop.
Note
Danger of accidents Reduced braking due to damaged brake discs.
– If the brake linings are not changed in time, the steel brake lining carriers grind on the brake disc. The braking effect is greatly
reduced and the brake discs are destroyed.

– Check the brake linings for minimum thickness .
Minimum thickness  ≥ 1 mm (≥ 0.04 in)
» If the minimum thickness is less than specified:
–
Change the rear brake linings. x
– Check the brake linings for damage and cracking.

If damage or wear is encountered:
–
Change the rear brake linings. x
