17.1 Checking the engine oil level

The engine oil level must be checked at normal engine operating temperature.
Preparatory work
– Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.

Main work
– Remove oil dipstick 1. Check the engine oil level in the measurement range.
Info
After switching off the engine, wait one minute before checking the level.
The engine oil level must be in the middle A of the measurement range of the oil
dipstick.
» If the engine oil level is not at the specified level:
– Add engine oil. ( p. 225)
– Replace the oil dipstick.
