TAILGATE AND BODY HINGES MAINTENANCE
Tailgate Locking
Mechanism (Single
Tailgate)
It is important to lubricate the tailgate
hinges and the locking mechanism
with multipurpose grease as per the
lubricating schedule (refer to
“Recommended lubricants” on
page 123).
Also, inspect the welds around hinges.
The proper working order of the
following components is also to be
checked (Figure 131. “Tailgate locking
components” to Figure 137.
“Body-to-chassis left hinge”):
• Tailgate hydraulic cylinders;
