6.1.8 Port 7 - 3.5" disk drive
The 3.5" di sk drive at the external drive
connector can be accessed at port 7 of the
computer. To turn on drive I of port 7, type
the fo ll owing BASIC sta t eme nt:
]PR #7<CR>
The program stored on the di skette inserted
in the drive wi ll be lo aded and run
automatically as described before.
6.2 Expansion connector
On the left side of the LASER 128 / l 28EX is
a 50-pin con nector for plugging in an Apple®
Ile compatible peripher al card or a
se par ate ly purc has ed expans ion box which
can sup p or t two peripheral cards.
Bes ide s providing mechani c al prot ect ion to
the interface cards, the ex pansion box , with
its own power s uppl y, also help s to re li eve
the l oa din g on the power s uppl y of the
comp ut er.
Only low current co ns umpti on int e rfa ce
cards sho uld be plugged into th e expansion
connector direct ly while an expansion b ox
sh ould be u sed for hi gh current cons umpti on
cards in or d er to prevent the power s up ply
of th e m ain unit fr om over loadin g. Th ose
u se rs who want to in stall add it ion a l
expan sion memory in th e co mput er s hould
p ay particular attention.
