6.2 Shave the Tails
Entanglement of the tail in the machine
Risk of a cut, broken or injured tail of the cow.
When a cow lies on the bed and the machine passes behind the cow there is more risk of
the tail being entangled when the hairs and tail plume are long. To minimize the risk, cut
the tail plume and shave the tail.
1. Cut off the tail plume a few centimeters below the tail end.
2. Shave the tail above the remaining plume.
6.3 Clean the Machine

Risk of severe injury or death.
Do not use a high pressure cleaner to clean the machine.
