TochangetheBIOSsettings,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage59.
2.FromtheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu,selectExit➙OSOptimizedDefault.
3.Dependingontheoperatingsystemtobeinstalled,dooneofthefollowing:
•ToinstalltheWindows10(64-bit)operatingsystem,selectEnabled.
•ToinstallanoperatingsystemotherthanWindows10(64-bit),selectDisabled.
4.SelectYesinthewindowdisplayedandpressEntertoconfirmyourselection.
5.TosavesettingandexittheSetupUtilityprogram,pressF10,selectYesinthewindowdisplayed,
andpressEnter.
Note:Forsomekeyboards,youmightneedtopressFn+F10toexittheSetupUtilityprogram.
Usingthecoverpresenceswitch
Thecoverpresenceswitchpreventsyourcomputerfromloggingintotheoperatingsystemwhenthe
computercoverisnotproperlyinstalledorclosed.
Tousethecoverpresenceswitch,enablethecover-presence-switchconnectoronthesystemboard
first.Toachievethis,dothefollowing:
1.StarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage59.
2.SelectSecurity➙ChassisIntrusionDetectionandpressEnter.
3.SelectEnabledandpressEnter.
4.TosavesettingandexittheSetupUtilityprogram,pressF10,selectYesinthewindowdisplayed,and
pressEnter.Thecover-presence-switchconnectoronthesystemboardisenabled.
Note:Forsomekeyboards,youmightneedtopressFn+F10toexittheSetupUtilityprogram.
Thecoverpresenceswitchstartsfunctioning.Iftheswitchdetectsthatthecomputercoverisnotcorrectly
installedorclosed,anerrormessagewillbedisplayedwhenyouturnonthecomputer.Tofixtheerror
messageandlogintotheoperatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.Properlyinstallorcloseyourcomputercover.SeeChapter9“Installingorreplacinghardware”on
page89.
2.StartandthenexittheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage59and
“ExitingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage65.

anddata.
Youdonothavetosetanypasswordstouseyourcomputer.However,usingpasswordsimprovescomputer
