RecoveryinformationforWindows7
TorecoveryourWindows7operatingsystem,usethefollowingsolutions:
•UseWindowsrecoverysolutions.
–UseSystemRestoretorestoresystemfilesandsettingstoanearlierpoint.
1.ClicktheStartbuttontoopentheStartmenu.
2.ClickControlPanel.ViewControlPanelbyLargeiconsorSmallicons,andthenclickRecovery
➙OpenSystemRestore.
3.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
–UsetheWindowsrecoveryenvironmentbydoingoneofthefollowing:
–Afterseveralconsecutivefailedbootattempts,theWindowsrecoveryenvironmentmightstart
automatically.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentochoosetheappropriaterecoverysolution.
–Turnonorrestartyourcomputer.Then,repeatedlypressandreleasetheF8keyuntiltheAdvanced
BootOptionswindowopens.SelectRepairYourComputer,pressEnter,andfollowtheinstructions
onthescreentochoosetheappropriaterecoverysolution.
Note:Forsomekeyboards,youmightneedtopressFn+F8toopentheAdvancedBootOptions
window.
•UsetheRescueandRecoveryprogramtorestorethestoragedrivefromabackup,orrestoretheC
drivetothefactory-defaultsettings.
Notes:
–Dependingonyourcomputermodel,theRescueandRecoveryprogrammightnotbeavailableunless
youinstalleditmanuallyearlier.
–IfyouusetheRescueandRecoveryprogramtorestorethestoragedrivefromabackup,ensurethat
youbackedupyourdataearlierwiththeprogram.
TousetheRescueandRecoveryprogram,dooneofthefollowing:
–OpentheRescueandRecoveryprogram.See“Accessingaprogramonyourcomputer”onpage40

Formoreinformationaboutusingtheprogram,refertothehelpsystemoftheprogram.
–OpentheRescueandRecoveryworkspace.
1.Turnoffyourcomputer.PressandholdtheEnterkeyandthenturnonthecomputer.Release
theEnterkeywhenStartupInterruptMenuisdisplayed.Then,pressF11toopentheRescue
andRecoveryworkspace.
2.IftheRescueandRecoveryworkspacefailstoopen,usetherescuemediumyoucreatedearlierto
resolvetheproblem.Selecttherescuemediumasthestartupdevice.See“Selectingatemporary
startupdevice”onpage64.Whentherescuemediumstarts,theRescueandRecoveryworkspace
opens.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
•UsetherecoverymediumyoucreatedearlierwiththeCreateRecoveryMediaprogramtorestoreonly
theCdriveortheentirestoragedrivetothefactory-defaultsettings.
