Make sure that all server power cords are disconnected from their power sources before performing
this procedure.
Complete the following steps to install an upper tray storage interposer:

Step 1. Position the storage interposer over the pins on the tray; then, slide the storage interposer to the
right.
Step 2. Secure the storage interposer with the screw.
Step 3. Rotate the RAID card down and align it with the connector on the storage interposer; then, insert
the RAID card in the storage interposer connector.
Step 4. Connect the power and data cables to the storage interposer.
After you have installed the upper storage interposer:
1. Install the upper fan cage. See “Install a fan cage (upper tray)” on page 135.
2. Turn the tray right-side up.
3. If you removed one or more compute system boards or a compute system board filler from a compute
tray, install the compute system boards or compute system board filler. See “Install a compute system
board” on page 128.
4. Install the upper compute tray or storage tray. See “Install the compute tray (fully removed)” on page 125
or “Install the storage tray (fully removed)” on page 189.
5. Install the front cover. See “Install the front cover” on page 139.
Install a storage interposer (lower tray)
The lower storage interposer is in the lower compute tray that is accessed from the front of the server. Insert
the storage interposer in the lower compute tray and secure it with the screw; then, connect the RAID card to
the storage interposer and install the fan cage and lower compute tray.
