1.Makesurethatthemonitorcablesarefirmlyconnected.
2.Tryusingadifferentmonitorontheserver,ortryusingthemonitorthatisbeing
testedonadifferentserver.
3.Runthediagnosticprograms.Ifthemonitorpassesthediagnosticprograms,
theproblemmightbeavideodevicedriver.
4.(Trainedtechnicianonly)Replacethesystemboard.
Thescreenisblank.
1.IftheserverisattachedtoaKVMswitch,bypasstheKVMswitchtoeliminateit
asapossiblecauseoftheproblem:connectthemonitorcabledirectlytothe
correctconnectorontherearoftheserver.
2.TheIMM2remotepresencefunctionisdisabledifyouinstallanoptionalvideo
adapter.TousetheIMM2remotepresencefunction,removetheoptionalvideo
adapter.
3.Iftheserverinstalledwiththegraphicaladapterswhileturningontheserver,
thelogodisplaysonthescreenafterapproximately3minutes.Thisisnormal
operationwhilethesystemloads.
4.Makesurethat:
Theserveristurnedon.Ifthereisnopowertotheserver,see“Power
problems”onpage91

Themonitorcablesareconnectedcorrectly.
Themonitoristurnedonandthebrightnessandcontrastcontrolsare
adjustedcorrectly.
5.Makesurethatthecorrectserveriscontrollingthemonitor,ifapplicable.
6.Makesurethatdamagedserverfirmwareisnotaffectingthevideo;see
“Updatingthefirmware”onpage43.
7.Replacethefollowingcomponentsoneatatime,intheordershown,restarting
theservereachtime:
a.Monitor
b.Videoadapter(ifoneisinstalled)
c.(Trainedtechnicianonly)Systemboard.
