Notes:
1.Whenyoureassemblethecomponentsintheserver,besuretorouteallcablescarefullysothattheyare
notexposedtoexcessivepressure.
2.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,youmusteitherupdatetheserverwiththelatestfirmwareor
restorethepre-existingfirmwarefromadisketteorCDimage.Makesurethatyouhavethelatest
firmwareoracopyofthepre-existingfirmwarebeforeyouproceed.See“Updatingthefirmware”on
page43
,“UpdatingtheUniversalUniqueIdentifier(UUID)”onpage59,and“UpdatingtheDMI/SMBIOS

3.Whenyoureplacethesystemboard,makesurethatyouremovetheIntegratedManagementModule
AdvancedUpgradeandplaceitonthenewsystemboard.ForinformationabouttheAdvanced

.
4.ReactivateanyFeaturesonDemandfeatures.Instructionsforautomatingtheactivationoffeaturesand
installingactivationkeysisintheFeaturesonDemandUser'sGuide.Todownloadthedocument,goto

Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagev,“Handlingstatic-sensitivedevices”
onpage291,and“Installationguidelines”onpage289.
Step2.Alignthesystemboardwiththeslotsonthesideofthechassisandlowertherightsideintothe
chassisfirst;then,lowertheothersideofthesystemboardintothechassis.
