•Microprocessorsaretobeinstalledonlybytrainedtechnicians.
Important:Alwaysusethemicroprocessorinstallationtooltoinstallamicroprocessor.Failingtouse
themicroprocessorinstallationtoolmaydamagethemicroprocessorsocketsonthesystemboard.Any
damagetothemicroprocessorsocketsmayrequirereplacingthesystemboard.
•TheserversupportsuptotwoIntelXeon™E5-2600v3seriesmulti-coremicroprocessors,which
aredesignedfortheLGA2011socket.Seehttp://www.lenovo.com/us/en/serverproven/foralistof
supportedmicroprocessors.
•Donotmixmicroprocessorswithdifferentcoresinthesameserver.
•Thefirstmicroprocessormustalwaysbeinstalledinmicroprocessorsocket1onthesystemboard.
•Whenonemicroprocessorisinstalled,theairbafflemustbeinstalledtoprovidepropersystemcooling.
•Donotremovethefirstmicroprocessorfromthesystemboardwhenyouinstallthesecond
microprocessor.
•Whenyouinstallthesecondmicroprocessor,youmustalsoinstalladditionalmemoryandthefourthfan.
