•UEFIfirmwarelevel
•IMMfirmwarelevel
•Adaptersandattachments,inthesamelocations
•Addressjumpers,terminators,andcabling
•Softwareversionsandlevels
•Diagnosticprogramtypeandversionlevel

Recoveringtheserverfirmware(UEFIupdatefailure)
Usethisinformationtorecovertheserverfirmware.
Important:Someclustersolutionsrequirespecificcodelevelsorcoordinatedcodeupdates.Ifthedevice
ispartofaclustersolution,verifythatthelatestlevelofcodeissupportedfortheclustersolutionbefore
youupdatethecode.
Iftheserverfirmwarehasbecomecorrupted,suchasfromapowerfailureduringanupdate,youcan
recovertheserverfirmwareinthefollowingway:
•In-bandmethod:Recoverserverfirmware,usingeitherthebootblockjumper(AutomatedBoot
Recovery)andaserverFirmwareUpdatePackageServicePack.
•Out-of-bandmethod:UsetheIMMwebinterfacetoupdatethefirmware,usingthelatestserver
firmwareupdatepackage.

Theflashmemoryoftheserverconsistsofaprimarybankandabackupbank.Youmustmaintaina
bootableUEFIfirmwareimageinthebackupbank.Iftheserverfirmwareintheprimarybankbecomes
corrupted,youcaneithermanuallybootthebackupbankwiththeUEFIbootbackupjumper(J15),orinthe
caseofimagecorruption,thiswilloccurautomaticallywiththeAutomatedBootRecoveryfunction.
