Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”on
page289.
Step2.Removethetopcover(see“Removingthetopcover”onpage143).
Step3.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthenewfantoanyunpaintedmetalsurfaceon
theserver.Then,removethenewfanfromthepackage.
Step4.Orientthefanoverthefanslotinthefancagesothatthefanconnectoralignswiththeconnector
onthesystemboard.
Step5.Insertthefanintothefanslotinthefancageandpressitdownuntilitisseatedcorrectlyintheslot.
