Tohelpensurepropersystemcoolingandsystemreliability,makesurethatthefollowingrequirements
aremet:
•Eachofthedrivebayshasadriveorafillerpanelandelectromagneticcompatibility(EMC)shield
installedinit.
•Eachofthepower-supplybayshasapowersupplyorafillerinstalledinit.
•Iftheserverhasredundantpower,eachofthepower-supplybayshasapowersupplyinstalledinit.
•Thereisadequatespacearoundtheservertoallowtheservercoolingsystemtoworkproperly.Leave
approximately50mm(2.0in.)ofopenspacearoundthefrontandrearoftheserver.Donotplace
objectsinfrontofthefans.Forpropercoolingandairflow,replacetheservercoverbeforeyouturnon
theserver.Operatingtheserverforextendedperiodsoftime(morethan30minutes)withtheserver
coverremovedmightdamageservercomponents.
•Youhavefollowedthecablinginstructionsthatcomewithoptionaladapters.
•Youhavereplacedafailedfanwithin48hours.
•Youhavereplacedahot-swapfanwithin30secondsofremoval.
•Youhavereplacedahot-swapdrivewithin2minutesofremoval.
•Youhavereplacedafailedhot-swappowersupplywithin2minutesofremoval.
•Youdonotoperatetheserverwithouttheairbaffleinstalled.Operatingtheserverwithouttheairbaffle
mightcausethemicroprocessortooverheat.
•Microprocessorsocket2alwayscontainseitherasocketcoveroramicroprocessorandheatsink.
•Youhaveinstalledthefifthandsixthfanswhenyouinstalledthesecondmicroprocessoroption.
