TheRacor500FGTurbineSeriesfuellter
- water separator assembly is designed to
protectprecisionenginecomponentsfrom
dirt,rust,algae,asphaltines,varnishes,
andespeciallywater,whichisprevalentin
enginefuels.Theyremovecontaminants
fromfuelusingthefollowingthreestage
process:
Stage One: Separation
Asfuelentersthelterassembly,itmoves
throughthecentrifugeandspinsofflarge
solidsandwaterdropletswhichfalltothe
bottomofthecollectionbowl.
StageTwo:Coalescing
Smallwaterdropletsbead-uponthe
surfaceoftheconicalbafeandcartridge
element.Whenheavyenough,theytoo
falltothebottomofthebowl.
Stage Three: Filtration
TheAquablocI1cartridgeelementsrepel
waterandremovecontaminantsfromfuel
down.Theyarewaterproofandeffective
longer than water absorbing elements.
Priming Instructions
1. RemovetheT-handleandlidfromtop
of500FGassembly.
2. Fill500FGassemblywithcleanfuel.
3. LubricatebothlidgasketandT-handle
O-ringwithcleanfuelormotoroil.
4. ReplacelidandT-handleandtighten
snuglybyhand-do not use tools.
5. Ifapplicable,followengine
manufacturer’sServiceManualto
completethefuelsystempriming-re-
primingprocedure.
6. Startengineandcheckforleaks;
correctasnecessarywithengineoff.
Draining Water or Contaminated Fuel
Thefrequencyofwaterdrainingis
determinedbythecontaminationlevelof
thefuel.Inspectordrainthecollection
bowlofwaterdailyorasnecessary.The
collectionbowlmustbedrainedbefore
contaminantsreachthetopoftheturbine.
