1. NEVER HAVE UNCONTROLLED
FLAMMABLE PRODUCTS ON BOARD.
2. ALWAYS HAVE FIRE EXTINGUISH-
ERS SERVICED AND AVAILABLE.
3. ENSURE THAT ALL ESCAPE
ROUTES ARE ACCESSIBLE.

4. The boat owner / operator shall:
- Havere-ghtingequipmentregu-
larlychecked&servicedatintervals
indicatedontheequipmentorrec-
ommendedbythemanufacturer.
- Replaceportablereghtingequip-
ment,ifexpiredordischarged,
bydevicesofidenticalorgreater
re-ghtingcapacity.
- Havexedsystemsrelledorre-
placedwhenexpiredordischarged.
5. Keepthebilgescleanandcheckfor
fuelandgasvapoursorfuelleaksat
regularintervals.
6. Whenreplacingpartsofthere-ght-
inginstallationonlymatchingcompo-
nentsshallbeused,bearingthesame
designationorbeingequivalentintheir
technicalandreresistantcapabilities.
7. Donottfreehangingcurtainsorother
fabricsinthevicinityoforabovethe
stoveorotheropenamedevices.
8. Donotstowcombustiblematerialinthe
enginespaces.Ifnon-combustiblema-
terials are to be stowed in the engine
spacetheymustbesecuredagainst
fallingintomachineryandshallcause
noobstructiontoaccesstotheengines
orenginespaces.
9. NEVER:
- Obstructpassagewaystoexitsand
hatches.
- Obstructsafetycontrols;e.g.fuel
valves,gasvalvesandswitchesof
theelectricalsystem.
- Obstructportablereextinguishers
stowedinlockers.
- Leavethecraftunattendedwhen
cookingorusingheatingappliances.
- Usegaslightsinthecraft.
- Modifyanyofthecraft'ssystems
(especiallyelectrical,fuelandgas)
orallowunqualiedpersonnelto
modifyanyofthecraft'ssystems.
- FillanyfueltankorreplaceLPGgas
bottleswhenmachineryisrunningor
whencookingorheatingappliances
areinuse.
- SmokewhilehandlingfuelorLPG
gas.

Asthevesselownerorskipperyouare
responsibleforensuringthattheboatis
equippedwiththerequirednumberof
reextinguishers,andanyothersafety
equipmentasdeterminedbytheregula-
torybodycontrollingtheareainwhichthe
Vessel operates.
