WearablePFD’smustbe:
• readilyaccessible
• beingoodandserviceablecodition
• betheappropriatesizeforthe
intendeduser.
Youmustalsohaveaboardatleastone
throwableTypeIVPFD.
TheTypeIVPFDcanbethrowntothe
personinthewaterandheldbythemuntil
rescue.
ThemostcommonTypeIVPFD’sare
buoyantoatingcushions,ringbuoysor
horseshoebuoys.
YoushouldalsohaveaDanbuoypole
withaagorlightatthetoptoindicatethe
positionofapersoninthewater.Thisis
normallymountedatorneartheTransom
forimmediatereleaseincaseofan
emergency.
