Any work being done i.e. welding on
surroundingboatswillgreatlyincreasethe
riskofelectrolysis.
The risk of galvanic corrosion is greatly
increased if any surrounding boats are
connected to shore power and they
have any neutralor ground faultsin their
electricalwiringsystems.
Your vessel is protected to the highest
standards and as long as the sacricial
anodes are inspected regularly (We
recommend monthly) but never longer
than every three months and replaced
as required no problems should be
experienced.
As R & C have no control over the
conditionsthatthevesseliskeptinorthe
frequency that the anodes are inspected
orchanged.Weacceptnoliabilityforany
consequential damage that may occur
to the Sail drive legs, propeller shafts,
propellers or anyother equipmenton the
vesselduetofailureoftheanodes.
I. RIGGING
Rigging is subject to Fatigue and wear
and must be carefully inspected and
maintained.AregularinspectionforWear,
discoloration, loose wires and chang
should be conducted. The frequency
shouldbedeterminedbytheusageofthe
vessel.
Always rinse the rigging with fresh water
after sailing. Salt deposits can create
corrosion pitting, cracking & general
deterioration.
Clean rigging with a CHLORINE free
watersolubledetergentandnonabrasive
cleaningequipment.
Inspect rigging for stains; Rust stains
can indicate areas of stress corrosion or
cracking.RemovestainswithSyntheticor
brasspads,neverusesteelwool.
Inspect for broken wires and replace as
necessary.
Do not mix Stainless steel and Galvanised
metals on cables, ttings, AND PINS
etc. Mixing dissimilar metals will cause
rapid deterioration due to the effects of
electrolysis.
Ifriggingisremovedforanyreasonitmust
be stored in a dry place never in plastic
bagsorplasticwrapping.
J. ENGINES
Refer to the Lubrication and servicing
instructions in the engine manufactures
operatingmanual.
A regular visual inspection of all engine
ttings, pipes and wiring must be carried
out.Any signs of wear, Chang or loose
partsmustbecorrected.
Also checkthe tightnessand wearon all
enginebeltsandreplaceifnecessary.
K. ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Routinemaintenanceshouldincludeitems
basedonhowfrequentlythevesselisused

Other items to be checked on a regular
basisincludeOillevel,Oil&FuelFilters.
The operation of seacocks and valves
shouldbeinspectedMonthlytoensurefree
andeasyoperationincaseofemergency.
Thegas system pipes andttingsshould
also be regularly checked for wear and
tightness.
It is recommended that the checklist
for routine maintenance found in the
component manuals supplied with the
vessel be used as a basis for a regular
routinemaintenanceplanandincludethem
