waterandremovecontaminantsfromfuel
down. They are waterproof and effective
longer than water absorbing elements.
Priming Instructions
1. RemovetheT-handleandlidfromtop
of500FGassembly.
2. Fill500FGassemblywithcleanfuel.
3. LubricatebothlidgasketandT-handle
O-ringwithcleanfuelormotoroil.
4. ReplacelidandT-handleandtighten
snuglybyhand-do not use tools.
5. Ifapplicable,followengine
manufacturer’sServiceManualto
completethefuelsystempriming-re-
primingprocedure.
6. Startengineandcheckforleaks;
correctasnecessarywithengineoff.
Draining Water or Contaminated Fuel
Thefrequencyofwaterdrainingis
determinedbythecontaminationlevelof
thefuel.Inspectordrainthecollection
bowlofwaterdailyorasnecessary.The
collectionbowlmustbedrainedbefore
contaminantsreachthetopoftheturbine.
1. Enginemustbeoffandcooltotouch.
2. WARNINGDonotleavetheself-venting
drainopenfortoolongasitcoulddrain
theentire lterandpossibly the entire
fuelsystem
3. With an appropriate collection pan in
place open self-venting drain on the
bottomofsee-thrubowlandallowwater
andothercontaminantstodrainintothe
collectionpan.
4. Closeself-ventingdrainatrstindication
ofcleanfuel.Tightenbyhandonly-do
not use tools
