Trackit Defaults Tab 1
This m enu item activates a cont rol dialog t hat adj ust s how t he Trackit Mk3 behaves during a re-
cording. See Figure 33.

To save new defaults t o Tr ackit Mk3, press ‘Send these values t o Trackit ’, followed by ‘Save current
values’.
The following funct ions are support ed:
I dle M ode : Trackit Mk3 turns it self off aft er a defined period when not recording.
Recor d Mode : Trackit Mk3 turns it self off aft er a defined period after having recorded. Trackit Mk3
wait s for a defined period for a card to be reinsert ed t o append to an existing file which is < 24
hours old. Ot herwise it start s a new recording on a blank card. 60 m inutes is enough for a user to
rem ove a card, read it and reinsert it to continue recording until t he card is full.
Tra ck it Ad dr e ss: set s the serial address of t he Trackit Mk3 if a sim ple serial network is configured
wit h several Trackits connect ed t o one PC.
BU ba t t e r y aut o cha r ge : enables fast - charging of the backup bat t ery when t he Tr ackit Mk3 is
connected t o it s ext ernal power supply.
W arn if < 8 m ins card t im e: t he Trackit Mk3 st art s beeping when t he card has room for only an-
ot her 8 m inut es of recording.
Allow card set u p a ut o e x e cut e : allows a set up t o be st ored onto a flash card for a recording to
st art aut om atically only when the Trackit Mk3 is swit ched on. See Ways to start a recording, in
St ep 8.
Allow a ut o re cord ( ove r w rit e ) : when t his box is checked t he Tr ackit Mk3 autom atically over-
writ es any dat a on a card insert ed during a recording ( e.g. w hen changing cards during a record-
ing) .
Allow a ut o re cord ( appe n d) : if a card is insert ed w it h a file which has the sam e pat ient nam e
and is less t han 24 hours old, Trackit Mk3 appends t o rat her than overwrit es t he dat a. This is a
very useful feat ure if a recording is interrupt ed, say for a quick review of the dat a. Trackit Mk3
waits in record m ode, and when the card is reinsert ed it carries on recording to t he exist ing file on
t he card.
