5 Connection of the GRACIE chair to a PC/MAC
(GKB-AX)
General security
For correct setting of the GRACIE chair into your PC it is
recommended that your network administrator or a representative of
your IT department is present.
For correct functioning of WLAN or wired connection the chair must be
connected to power supply.
For safety reasons the chair must be placed firmly on the ground. Then
it can be connected to a PC.
Wireless transmission of pictures or videos is not encrypted. Data are
protected by a network password, username and password. Choose
your password carefully so that it cannot be revealed. Do not use the
default password!
In case of resetting all of your passwords to default settings. Freely
accessible default passwords are restored and the folder with sensitive
patient data may be accessible. It is necessary to set your new
passwords immediately!
It is recommended to implement suitable security measures to prevent
unauthorized persons from accessing the device!
You are recommended to backup your data (photos and videos) before
every firmware update. Updating the firmware will cause their deletion!
Do not connect two or more GRACIE chairs at the same time. Always
perform the installation one by one.
Maximum number of devices which can be connected to the GRACIE
chair at one time is 5.
Videos are recorded in "avi" format. APPLE MAC OS-X requires
installing a player which is able to open this format.
It is essential for the use of the GRACIE chair that the network
connection with the doctor’s computer is not blocked by a firewall.
Communication with the http protocol and sharing of files in a
Windows network (SMB protocol for Mac) must be enabled for proper
functioning.
Supported characters for all names and passwords for Wi-Fi network
in the client mode are listed below. Name of the Wi-Fi network in the
client mode may also contain the space character. Diacritical signs are
not allowed.
