4.14.4 Maintenance and cleaning
• A regular yearly inspection of this medical equipment must be carried out .
• For a clear picture, the lens of the video colposcope should be wiped
regularly with a microfibre wipes.
Maintenance of the videocolposcope
• Disconnect the screen and chair and colposcope from power supply
before cleaning. This will prevent accidental pressing of buttons on the
control panel.
• Clean the colposcope cover and control elements with a soft cloth
slightly moistened in water with detergent. Do not use an abrasive
sponge, cleaning powder or solvents like alcohol or gasoline!
• Prevent any contact with water!
• Do not touch, scratch or tap the glass pf colposcope with sharp
objects like a pencil or screwdriver. Such contact may lead to
scratching of the surface.
• Do not insert sharp objects or pour liquid into the openings in the
colposcope. It could cause accidental fire, electric shock or failure.
• Connection of any other device is not possible!
• Do not attempt to repair the colposcope by yourself. By opening the
cover you may expose yourself to dangerous voltages or other
possible risks.
• Do not place the colposcope near heat sources such as radiators or to
places exposed to direct sunlight, places with high dust generation or near
sources of mechanical vibrations or shocks
• When the chair is connected to the network and the screen is in sleep mode,
a LED diode is flashing
