3. BASIC CONECTIONS, ALL MODELS
3.1. DMX-IN & DMX-OUT
Dmx512 output, opto-isolated. Connector: XLR-5 female, standard.
Dmx512 input, opto-isolated. Connector: XLR-5 male, standard.
Pin 1: Ground.
Pin 2: Data
Pin 3: Data +
Pin 4 & 5: No Connection
Always use shielded and twister pairs cables, with 120 ohms of characteristic impedance and low
capacitance. Cable for RS485 data. The Data- & Data + signal have to be in the same twister pair.
Don’t use audio cables
Connect 32 users maximum in a one DMX line
Use cables not over a maximum length of 500 meters
Use a 120 ohms termination, between pin 2 & 3 on the last DMX THRU connector
Use DMX Splitters to connect more DMX users or longer cable runs
Piccolo transmits DMX with following parameters (default configuration*):

3.2. MIDI IN & MIDI OUT
MIDI standard port: 2 connectors DIN 180º - 5 pines (female) for IN & OUT. Use standard MIDI
cables.

MIDI-IN Pin 2: n.c. MIDI-OUT Pin 2: Ground
