31. MACROS
Macros are a collection functions which are associated with keys for:
a) The automation of some processes in playback mode
b) To repeat keystroke entries during the selection when editing
31.1. Storing, modifying and deleting of macros
Storing: [3_B]
MACRO
[#] [REC] {press the desired keys…} [3_B]
MACRO
[3_B]MACRO [1] [REC]
Storing of macro 1. If the macro number is not it will be stored with
the next available number. After [REC] is pressed the LED of
[3_B]MACRO begins to blink. Now, all the keys which are pressed
will be stored in to this macro
{Press the desired keys…}
Example, to store a macro that loads & activates a effect into the
Submaster 5, press: [EFFECT][1][LOAD][S5][S5]
[3_B]MACRO
The macro is now stored and the macros table is opened
automatically. It is now possible to write a text to the macro. To open
this table at any moment, press [3_B]MACRO [MD.FY]
Sometimes, it is easier to delete and to create a new macro. But, if desired it is also possible to
modify a macro:
[3_B]MACRO [#] [MD.FY] {follow the instruction to delete or insert any key stroke} [EXIT]
For Macros, when the macro is stored, it’s possible:
[3.B]MACRO [#] [OPTIONS] {Enter text…} [OPTIONS]
Deleting macros:
A specific macro [3_B]MACRO [#] [DELETE]
A macros range [3_B]MACRO [#] [THRU] [#] [DELETE]
All the stored macros [3_B]MACRO [DELETE]
31.2. Executing macros
a) For the automation of some keystroke processes in playback mode:
A macro can be executed when is associated to a cue, and this cue begins a cross-fade (this in
the Crossfader or in any Submaster). Example:
Open the cues table pressing [CUE][CUE]
Select with the cursor the desired cue and access to th cell: Command
Select the MACRO command (option 1) and enter the desired macro number to this cell
Now, when this cue begins the cross-fade (started with [GO]) the macro is executed (macro that
can, for example, load & activate an effect on a Submaster. This at the same time as the cue
begins the cross-fade)
b) To repeat process when selecting in editing:
In this case, the macros are directly executed from the keyboard, pressing:
[3_B]MACRO [#][ENTER]
Note: Piccolo can also execute a macro when turned on. This macro is programmed in the
menu 35, option: Power Up Macro. (pg- 66).
