3. OPERATION
3.1. GETTING STARTED
To operate the anemometer with an air sampler of the MAS-100 product family, it must be
placed on the sampling head of the air sampler.
Connect the anemometer to the corresponding air sampler, either by means of the RS-232
connection cable with the round connector, the RS-232 connection cable with the D-sub
connector, or the USB-A to USB-C cable in case of the MAS-100 VF.
Then follow the instructions for the individual air samplers, which you find in the subse-
quent chapters «Adjustment and calibration of …».
3.1.1. PERFORMING A MEASUREMENT
PROCEDURE
1) Press the ON/OFF button on the user interface.
2) After a few seconds, the anemometer is ready to measure and dis-
plays the current mass flow in SLPM.
Or start a calibration or adjustment procedure which causes the ane-
mometer to start automatically.
Hazard of wrong adjustment/calibration
A temperature sensor is integrated into the aluminum housing of the MAS-100
Regulus. Before calibration, the air sampler and the anemometer must be
brought to ambient temperature.
Note
The refresh rate of the displayed physical values explained above is once
every 3 seconds.
Note
If using a new generation MAS-100 air sampler, the anemometer switches au-
tomatically on when starting a calibration/adjustment and off after the end of
the procedure.
3.2. SHUTDOWN
The anemometer offers to options to shut down:
Automatic The anemometer shuts automatically down after 3 minutes of inactivity
if not powered by USB cable.
Manual The anemometer can be shut down manually by pressing the
ON/OFF button on the user interface for approx. 1 second.
