15. CARE AND MAINTENANCE
15.1. GENERAL
The anemometer does only require moderate care and maintenance to remain in good
working condition. Please pay attention to the following aspects:
Follow the general safety information (chapter 1.1)
Always follow the cleaning and decontamination procedures (chapter 15.2)
The anemometer must be calibrated periodically (chapter 16.5).
15.2. CLEANING AND DECONTAMINATION
Use a commercial product or a 70 - 90% ethanol/water solution (or isopropanol/water).
To clean the anemometer, proceed as follows:
Spray the solution on a clean towel, then wipe the anemometer’s exterior surfaces.
Hazard of damage to the instrument
Do not clean the inside of the instrument.
Do not clean or spill liquids on the impeller.

The anemometer is not IP-protected.
Do not spill liquids into the electric/electronic connections or through the air
duct.
Hazard of damage to the instrument
All the cleaning/disinfection solution must be removed/wiped dry properly
prior to use.
15.3. BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Hazard of damage to the anemometer
Do not use any other type of battery other than the recommended type.
Do not use any rechargeable battery types.
Hazard of damage to the anemometer
Never use anything other than a perforated lid to open the anemometer, oth-
erwise the recesses in the bottom plate could be damaged.
Note
The instruments’ calibration values are stored in a non-volatile memory and
are not lost during battery replacement.
Note
When the battery is empty it still delivers enough power to run the RTC (real
time clock). However, if the battery has been unplugged and is not replaced
within 8 days, the RTC data will be lost. For that reason, do not leave the ane-
mometer without any battery for a longer period of time.
