8. ADJUSTMENT AND CALIBRATION OF
MAS-100 VF WITHOUT BROWSER-
BASED SOFTWARE
8.1. GENERAL INFORMATION
Hazard of wrong results
The anemometer is a high-precision measurement instrument sensitive to
draft currents and air turbulences. The anemometer and the air sampler shall
not be exposed to direct sunlight during calibration.
The measurement should take place in a room free from draft currents and
turbulences, including people walking by.
It is recommended to remain calmly seated in front of the anemometer during
this procedure to avoid air turbulences.
Hazard of wrong results
An air sampler must be re-adjusted and calibrated if the measured air flow is
out of the allowed tolerance band, or if the calibration expires.
Hazard of wrong results
Put a MAS-100 Family Calibration Disk with 85 mm diameter or a Petri dish in-
side the sampling head whenever adjusting or calibrating an air sampler which
lacks the air flow sensor, or an air sampler using an Easy-Clean-Base.
Note
MBV AG recommends to perform a calibration after every adjustment.
Note
MBV AG recommends to use automated procedures for adjustment and cali-
bration whenever available.
Note
As found: Incoming measurement. This is usually done prior a service or
repair.
As left: Outgoing measurement. This extends the validity of the calibra-
tion reminder without having to perform a new adjustment.
Note
A successful adjustment is the precondition for a calibration.
Note
Let the automated procedures run until they either finished successfully or are
automatically aborted by an error.
Note
Manual procedures for adjustment and calibration are the only option if an an-
emometer other than the MAS-100 Regulus or DA-100 NT is used.
