AccuPyc II 1340 Appendix H
Feb 07 H-1
H. RS-232 PIN ASSIGNMENT
The AccuPyc is a standard DTE device. The RS-232 port on the rear panel of the AccuPyc can
be used to attach an analytical balance for transfer of sample weight, or for transmitting data
through a serial line to a computer.
The pin assignment for the RS-232 port is shown in the following table; be sure your receiving
device is configured to interface with these assignments. Any signals that are not listed in the
table will be ignored by the AccuPyc.
The AccuPyc uses the DTR and DSR signals for hardware flow control. Be sure that your
serial device provides these signals. For example; if attaching to a PC (also a DTE device), use
a null modem cable which includes the signals designated in the above table.
If you experience a problem with transmission, ensure that the signals are set up properly. If
the signals are correctly configured, contact the receiving device manufacturer for assistance.
