2 Theory of Operation
2.1 Introduction
This patient monitor is intended to be used for monitoring, displaying, reviewing, storing
and transferring of multiple physiological parameters including ECG, respiration (Resp),
temperature (Temp), SpO
2
, pulse rate (PR), non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), invasive
blood pressure (IBP), cardiac output (C.O.), End tidal CO
2
value (EtCO
2
) and anesthetic gas
(AG) of single adult, pediatric and neonatal patients. C.O. monitoring is restricted to adult
patients only.
The patient monitor also:
Provides audible and visual alarm indications in case of patient or equipment
problems.
Enables displaying, reviewing, storing and transferring of real-time data.
Incorporates multiple input devices such as buttons, knob and touchscreen
Enables program upgrade over the network.
