RSBI
Rapid shallow breathing index - quotient between fspn and TVe spn (measured
in liters).
WOB
Work of breathing – work required to deliver a certain volume of gas to the
patient’s lungs within one cycle.
RCexp Patient’s expiratory time constant – resistance multiplied with compliance.
NIF Patient’s maximum inspiratory negative occlusion pressure.
