Chapter 2
Start-up
Initial Start-up
The Ultima Gas Monitor is
factory-calibrated and ready for
immediate use. Its range and output
are preset. Once power is applied to
the unit, the LCD shows a test of all
display words. The software version
number displays; then, a 25-second
warm-up countdown for sensor
stability begins (a blank screen
appears between each second of
countdown time).
There is no signal output during
this warm-up time.
Another test of the LCD is
done along with the software
version number.
The Monitor then begins to display
the gas concentration
and corresponding unit of
measurement (FIGURE 2-1):
ppm
% Gas (for oxygen only)
% LEL
NOTE: Before calibrating, the
Ultima Gas Monitor
must be powered for a
minimum of one hour
to allow the sensor to
settle into its new
environment for
Ethylene Oxide (ETO).
"
CAUTION
Before attempting a calibration,
power the unit at least one full
hour.
