CAUTION
When installing an Ultima Remote Sensor Module with its
mating Ultima Gas Monitor/Less Sensor, follow National
Electrical and local procedural Codes; failure to do so can
result in an unsafe condition.
For Catalytic Type Combustible Models
Three conductors are required for the Combustible Remote
Sensor Module. The Ultima unit has a three-wire terminal strip
with a pre-attached 18-inch harness pigtail to accommodate #12
AWG conductors; the sensor has a similar terminal strip.
The resistance of each conductor must not exceed that of 50 feet
of #12 AWG wire (.08 Ω). For other distances, consult TABLE
1-8.

NOTES: White and black wires (terminals 1 and 3) must be the same size.
The green wire (terminal 2) may be #16 AWG for any distance.
Splices must be soldered and insulated or made via screw-clamp
terminals.
Most installations require metal pipe or metallic conduit. In these
cases, separate conductors or unshielded, three-wire cable may
be used. Standard 120 VAC power rated wire or cable is
adequate since maximum system voltage is 30 VDC.
For open wiring, shielded wire or cable must be used to minimize
the possibility of noise interference and contact with other
voltages. Selection of this shielded cable must comply with local
requirements.
The preferred colors of the conductors to the remote sensors are
white (to terminal #1), green (to terminal #2), and black
(to terminal #3). TABLE 1-9 provides suggested cables for
Ultima installations; there are other cables available which are
also adequate.
