All Ultima Gas Monitors are rated explosion-proof, certified for
Classification I, Groups B, C and D, Division I Hazardous
Locations. When using this unit in these hazardous locations,
follow all local codes and practices.

Any Ultima Gas Monitor that has the Internal Relay option
selected cannot be installed as Intrinsically Safe.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Some Ultima Gas Monitor models are
housed in explosion-proof enclosures and can be used in
hazardous atmospheres.
• These models must be installed according to the National
Electric Code.
• Some Ultima Gas Monitor enclosures are rated for Class I,
Division 1, Groups B, C and D areas while others can only be
used in Groups C and D areas.
• The larger metal Approval Label on the Ultima Gas Monitor
(FIGURE 1-7) indicates if your particular model is approved for
use in hazardous areas and identifies its rating.
Unpacking, Mounting and Wiring the Ultima Gas
Monitor with Internal Relays
Unpack, mount and wire the Ultima Gas Monitor according to
Chapter 1, "Set-up." All electrical connections to the Ultima Gas
Monitor can be made via the clearly marked factory-installed
wiring harnesses.

Power cable wiring lengths for the Ultima Gas Monitor with
