14.CoatthenewprimaryfuellterelementO-ringwithclean
dieselfuelandinstallitintothegrooveinsidethefuellter
module.
CAUTION:Topreventenginedamage,donotaddfueltothe
fuellterhousing;thiscanaddcontaminantstothefuel.
15.CoatanewO-ringfortheprimaryfuelltercapwithclean
dieselfuelandinstallontotheprimaryfuelltercap.
CAUTION:Topreventenginedamage,thefuelltercapmust
betightenedonthefuellterhousing.
16.Attachprimaryfuelltercaptotheprimaryfuellter.Push
thecapontotheelementuntilitsnapstosecureit.
17.Coatthethreadsoftheprimaryfuelltercapwithclean
dieselfuel.
18.VerifyasmallO-ringisinstalledatthebottomoftheprimary
fuellter.IftheO-ringisloose(notinstalled)inthebottom
ofthelter,installtheO-ringinthegroovelocatedatthe
bottomoftheprimaryfuellter.CoattheO-ringwithclean
dieselfuel.
19.Installtheprimaryfuellterelementwithcapintotheprimary
fuellterhousing.Slowlylowertheelementintothehousing
untilprimaryfuelltercapisreadytobesecuredtothe
primaryfuellterhousing.
20.Securethefuelltercapandelementtothefuellterhousing
byturningthefuelltercapclockwiseuntilnger-tight.
21.Tightenfuelltercapto37lb·ft(50N·m).
22.Closewaterdrainvalveonfuellterhousingassemblyand
removewaterdrainhose.
23.Continuewithsecondaryfuellterreplacement.
