4.9.2 Ramp time and maximum frequency settings on the slave
In order for the slave to be able to perform the control, the ramp times should be selected somewhat
smaller than for the master and the maximum frequency should be selected somewhat higher.

4.9.3 Setting the speed and position controls
1. Set the speed (P300 ff) and position controller (P600 ff) independently of each other in all devices.
2. Commissioning the "Synchronous mode" position control.
The controller settings depend greatly on the characteristics of the drive unit, the drive application and
the load conditions. They can therefore not be planned in advance and must be set or optimised
experimentally on the system.
In principle, better dynamic results can usually be achieved with "sharper" controller settings.
However, for optimum position control, care should be taken that there is a rather moderate setting of
the I-component in the speed controller.
The speed control should be set for a slight overshoot. This results in a P-component which is as high
as possible (until noises occur at low speeds), and a rather moderate I-component..
The setting of the torque limits and the selected ramps must be made so that the drive can always
follow the ramp.
Detailed information about the setting and optimisation of speed and position controllers can be found on our
website www.nord.com in the application guidelines AG 0100 and AG 0101.
