3.4.11 Self-diagnostic function setting
The self-diagnostic function setting is used for enabling or disabling the error detection by
sensors. The detection can be enabled or disabled temporarily for troubleshooting. Allowing
for setting engine operation options for which expert knowledge is required to be handled.
This self-diagnostic should be used carefully. Be sure to restore the default settings of used
options of the self-diagnostic.
1. Enter the self-diagnostic mode and, until the following message appears, press
the [2] or [8] button.
SENSOR SETTING
2. Press the [6] button. The following message appears. Press the [2] or [8] button
until the option to set (refer to the table shown below) appears.
TONER SENSOR
ENABLE *
3. The setting on the lower display can be selected by pressing the [6] button.
The [2] button displays the next setting and the [8] button displays the preceding
setting.
4. Press the [6] button with the desired setting on the display. The setting is stored
in the EEPROM. The state in step 2 is restored.
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 when necessary.
6. Press the [4] button to end setting the option (except where not in step 4) (the
state in step 1 is restored).

installation checking.
