} The following flow shows the operating procedure for the transmitted light brightfield observation which is the basic
observation method of this microscope. The operating procedures for phase contrast observation and DIC observa-
tion will be described separately in Chapter 5, “OTHER OBSERVATION METHODS” on page 33.
For the fluorescence observation, refer to the separate instruction manual entitled “ Manual / Motorized Reflected
Fluorescence System”.
Set the main switch to “ I” (ON).
Place the specimen on the stage.
Engage a 10X objective in the light path.
Bring the specimen into focus.
Engage the objective to be used in the light
path and bring the specimen in focus.
Adjust the aperture iris and field iris diaphragms.
Disengage the DIC slider and
analyzer from the light path.
Engage the filters to be used in the
light path.
Adjust the interpupillary distance.
Adjust the diopter.
Adjust the light axis.
Adjust the brightness.
Start observation.

} After turning ON the main switch of the
module to be used, turn ON the main
switch of IX3-CBM at last.
