Chapter 8 Troubleshooting
VISERA XENON LIGHT SOURCE CLV-S40
Lamp does not
light.
Power cord is not connected. Connect power cord.
The light source is not turned
ON.
Turn the light source ON.
Circuit breaker(s) has tripped. Reset circuit breaker(s).
Lamp access cover is not
tightly closed.
Close the lamp access cover
securely.
Lamp access cover knob is not
locked.
Turn the lamp access cover knob
all the way to the lock mark.
Emergency lamp switch lever is
in an intermediate position.
Make sure that the switch lever is
set to either the main lamp or the
emergency lamp position.
Xenon lamp mounted
incorrectly.
Mount the lamp correctly.
Xenon lamp is old. Replace it with a new one.
The power switch has been
turned ON within fifteen
seconds after turning OFF of it.
Turn OFF the power switch, and
turn ON the power switch fifteen
seconds or more after turning it
OFF.
No light output
from endoscope.
Power cord is not connected. Connect power cord.
The light source is not turned
ON.
Turn the light source ON.
Circuit breaker(s) has tripped. Reset circuit breaker(s).
Lamp access cover is not
tightly closed.
Close the lamp access cover
securely.
Lamp access cover knob is not
locked.
Turn the lam access cover knob
all the way to the lock mark.
Emergency lamp switch lever is
in an intermediate position.
Make sure that the switch lever is
set to either the main lamp or the
emergency lamp position.
Xenon lamp mounted

Mount the lamp correctly.
Xenon lamp is old. Replace it with a new one.
Light guide cable not
connected.
Connect the light guide cable.
Brightness adjustment is set to
the minimum levels.
Adjust as required.
The standby mode is selected. Turn the standby mode OFF.
The power switch has been
turned ON within fifteen
seconds after turning OFF of it.
Turn OFF the power switch, and
turn ON the power switch fifteen
seconds or more after turning it
OFF.
