3 Device and Functional Description
3.4 Functional description
Extension arm The extension arms 3 serves for the horizontal positioning of the adaption 7 - 9 with
the end device (e.g. flat screen, OR lamp, etc.). The swivel motions can be restricted
through internal limit stops.
Brakes on the extension arm The extension arms 3 can be (optionally) equipped with friction brakes in order to ensure
that the extension arms 3, the spring arm 4 - 6, the adaption 7 - 9 and the end de-
vice (e.g. flat screen, OR lamp, etc.) remain stable in any set position.
Brakes The extension arms 3 and the spring arm 4 - 6 are equipped with brakes in order to
ensure that they remain stable in any set position.
For more detailed information on how to adjust the brake force, refer to
“Chapter 9.3” on
page 97
.
Spring arm The spring arm 4 - 6 serves for the horizontal and vertical positioning of the adaption
7 - 9 with the end device (e.g. flat screen, OR lamp, etc.).
Functioning of the springs
in the spring arm
To facilitate the positioning of the adaption 7 - 9 with the end device (e.g. flat screen,
OR lamp, etc.), a spring is installed in the spring arm 4 - 6.
The spring compensates the weight of the adaption 7 - 9 with the end device (e.g. flat
screen, OR lamp, etc.) and is available in different spring equipment versions (see
“Chapter 8.2.3” on page 82
,
“Chapter 8.2.4” on page 83
and
“Chapter 8.2.5” on page 84
).
Spring tension adjustment
on the spring arm
If the spring arm 4 - 6 with the end device (e.g. flat screen, OR lamp, etc.) moves down,
or if a new end device has been mounted, the spring tension must be readjusted.
For more detailed information on how to adjust the spring tension, refer to
“Chapter 9.2” on
page 95
.
Vertical lift of the spring arms In order to prevent collisions with the ceiling or other components, the vertical lift of the
spring arms 4 - 6 can be restricted. The vertical lift was defined during installation.
For more detailed information on how to adjust the vertical lift, refer to
“Chapter 9.4” on
page 100
.
Adaptations and end devices The adaption 7 - 9 have been designed for the transportation of the end device (e.g.
flat screen, OR lamp, etc.).
