Chapter 3 - Get started
Note
l You should follow the correct procedure in order to protect the integrity of the information on the
disk drives.
l You should check your available server storage and back-up your image server data at least once
a week.
You MUST put the scan head into standby mode at the end of each working day.

End the current session and select on the touch screen to put the device into standby mode.
2. The status indicator will turn blue when the device is in standby mode. The touch screen will switch
OFF when the device is in standby mode.
3. Fit the dust cap in the face pad and place the fabric cover over the scan head after the scan head is
in standby mode.
3.2.1 How to shut down the scan head
1. Follow the instructions to put the scan head into standby mode (see Use standby mode at the end of
each day on the previous page).
2. When the status indicator has turned blue you can turn OFF the power supply. The power switch is
located at the at the back of the scan head. The OFF position is marked " ".
Note
It can take up to one minute from the touch screen turning black to the status indicator turning blue.
3.2.2 Install software updates
CAUTION
Do NOT accept software updates when you are about to image a patient.
Each time you shut down the system the device will check for software updates. You should follow the
instructions displayed on the touch screen to start the software update.
Do NOT shut down the device during software updates. The device shuts down when the updates have
completed.
3.2.3 Log off the image server each day
You should log off the image server at the end of each day.
1. Exit OptosAdvance.
2. Select the "Windows" button.
3.
Select Log off.
Note
l Image files cannot be viewed on browser-based review clients when the image server has been
shut down.
l Restart the image server each week to allow updates to install (see Restart the image server each
week on the next page).
