H
Hibernation A function that enables the current working conditions to be stored on the hard disk when the
power is turned off, so that when the power resumes, the working conditions immediately
before the power was turned off will be displayed on the screen.
Hotkey A specified function executed by pressing two or more allocated keys in combination.
z One example of a “Hotkey” operation on this computer: pressing the
Fn
key and the
F9
key
simultaneously displays a pop-up window revealing the remaining battery power. The
Fn
key can be locked in place, and pop-up windows can be set to “display” or “no display”
(Î page 16).
Hub A device for connecting several cables of the same type to relay information. Examples are
USB hubs and network hubs.

Icon A small picture displayed on the desktop or the notification area. The picture expresses the
content or function of an application in an easy-to-understand format. The application can be
executed by double-clicking (Î page 161) on this icon. Some applications can be executed by
dragging and dropping a folder or document file over the icon.
