Operating the camera by connecting it to a smartphone
Connecting to a smartphone
You can easily establish a Wi-Fi connection on this unit without entering a password on
your smartphone.
• It may take some time for the operation to end after operating a smartphone.
[Wi-Fi Password] is set to [OFF] at the time of purchase. In [OFF] state, a third
party can tap into the Wi-Fi transmission and steal transmitted data.
To set [Wi-Fi Password] to [ON], refer to (→263).
Preparation
(On the camera) Set [Wi-Fi Password] to [OFF]. (→299)
(On your smartphone) Install “Image App” in advance. (→260)

Select the menu on the camera
→ [Setup] → [Wi-Fi] → [Wi-Fi Function] → [New Connection]
→ [Remote Shooting & View]
• The information required for directly connecting your smartphone
to this unit (SSID) is displayed.
• You can also display the information by pressing [Wi-Fi] button
on the camera.
• To change the connection method, refer to (→265).

Operate the smartphone
• The connection method differs depending on the smartphone used.
• When the connection is complete, a message indicating the successful connection will be
displayed on the smartphone screen.
