Basics
Buttons/Dials/Levers Used for Recording
Side dial / Rear dial
Rotate the side dial to adjust focus, and rotate the rear dial to set the aperture value and
shutter speed.
You can also select items and set numeric values.
This Owner’s Manual describes operations of the dials as follows:

You can adjust focus in the following cases:
In Manual Focus
In Auto Focus
(Only when [AF+MF] in [Custom] menu is set to [ON] (→144))
Rotating the side dial to the side :
Focusing on a nearby subject

Rear dial
You can set the aperture value, shutter speed, and other settings when in
following recording modes.
