Basics
Assigning frequently used functions to the buttons (Function buttons)
When [Focus Area Set] is assigned to the function button, you can display the AF area or the MF
Assist position setting screen.
When [Cursor Button Lock] is assigned to a function button, operation of the cursor button and
[MENU/SET] button is disabled. To enable operation, press the function button again.
When [Stabilizer] is set, you can make only the [Operation Mode].
The function assigned to the [Fn2] button will not work in the following cases:
When using [Time Lapse Shot]
When [Multi Exp.] is set
Intelligent Auto Mode
Intelligent Auto Plus Mode
Creative Control Mode
When Auto Focus mode is set to [Custom Multi]
When recording with [
] ([4K Burst(S/S)]) of the 4K Photo function.
The function assigned to the [Fn3] button will not work in the following cases:
[Miniature Effect], [One Point Color], [Sunshine] ([Creative Control] mode)
[Fn5], [Fn6], [Fn7], [Fn8], and [Fn9] cannot be used when the viewfinder is in use.
Using the function buttons during playback
You can directly set an assigned function to a selected image by pressing the function
button during playback.
Example: When [Fn1] is set to [Favorite]

Press to select the picture

Press [Fn1] button, and then set the picture as
[Favorite]
Functions that can be assigned in [Setting in PLAY mode]
The following functions can be assigned to the button [Fn1], [Fn2], or [Fn4].
[Playback] menu/Playback functions
