2nd curtain synchro
The light source appears behind the
subject and picture becomes dynamic.
Set it to [1ST] normally.
[2ND] is displayed in the flash icon on the
LCD monitor if you set [FLASH SYNC.] to
[2ND].
The flash sync. settings are also effective
when using an external flash. (P125)
When a fast shutter speed is set, the effect
of 2nd curtain synchro may deteriorate.
You cannot set AUTO/Red-eye reduction
[ ], Forced ON/Red-eye reduction
[ ] or Slow sync./Red-eye reduction
[ ] when [FLASH SYNC.] is set to [2ND].
Fixing the Focus and
the Exposure
(AF/AE Lock)
This is useful when you want to take a
picture of a subject outside the AF frame or
the contrast is too strong and you cannot
achieve appropriate exposure.
Fixing the exposure only
1 Align the screen with the subject
that you want to fix the exposure
of.
A Viewfinder Display
2 Press and hold [AFL/AEL] to fix
the exposure.
B Viewfinder Display
C When taking pictures with Live View
D AE lock indication
The aperture value and the shutter
speed light.
