Ingeneral,differentInternetIPaddressesrepresentdifferentcomputers.Thesecurityconcernisthatan
IPaddresschangeduringasessionmaybetheresultofanunauthorizedintrusionattempt.Therefore,to
preventdamagesfromthepotentialintrusion,thesessionisterminateduponthedetectionofanIP
addresschange.
PepwaverouterscanbeconfiguredtodistributedatatrafficacrossmultipleWANconnections.Also,the
InternetIPdependsontheWANconnectionsoverwhichcommunicationactuallytakesplace.Asaresult,
aLANclientcomputerbehindthePepwaveroutermaycommunicateusingmultipleInternetIP
addresses.Forexample,aLANclientcomputerbehindaPepwaverouterwiththreeWANconnections
maycommunicateontheInternetusingthreedifferentIPaddresses.
Withthepersistencefeature,rulescanbeconfiguredtoenableclientcomputerstopersistentlyutilizethe
sameWANconnectionsforebankingandothersecurewebsites.Asaresult,aclientcomputerwill
communicateusingoneIPaddress,eliminatingtheissuesmentionedabove.
