Looper angle
The surface of the looper with the thread groove must be at an angle of 2°
to the Imaginary center of the bedplate (Fig. 12.0.2).
12.0.1
12.1 Raise the presser foot with the presser bar lifter.
12.2 Remove needle plate and feed dog, then loosen clamp screw 1 (Fig. 11.0.1) of
looper holder 2.
12.3 Turn the balance wheel to move looper holder 2 to Its vertical position.
12.4 Place adjustment gauge No. 61-111843-06 against the left edge of the cover
plate support (see arrow in Fig. 12.0.2), push It against the looper and bring the
grooved looper surface into contact with the gauge.
12.5 In this position, tighten clamp screw 1.
12.6 Remove the gauge.
