With the needle bar at a position 0.8 mm before top dead center (pin in hole 4),
the slot in feed lifting eccentric 2 must point vertically downwards (see arrow
in Fig. 38.0.2).

38.1 Loosen screws 1 of feed lifting eccentric 2.
38.2 Turn the balance wheel to bring the needle bar to a position 0.8 mm before top
dead center.
38.3 insert the pin in hole 4 of the bearing plate (to block the machine).
38.4 Turn
feed lifting eccentric 2 so that its slot faces downwards (see arrow in
Fig. 38.0.2).
38.5 In this position, tighten the accessible screw 1.
38.6 Pull the pin out of the hole in the bearing plate.
38.7 Also tighten the second screw 1.
38.8 Check this adjustment (see "Correct setting").
